Rising from the floor of the Great Rift Valley like a monolith is the extinct volcano of Mount Longonot. A 3.1 kilometre trail runs from the park entrance to the crater rim, and continues in a 7.2 kilometre loop encircling the crater. There is a thick forest that uniquely lies within the crater of the mountain.
The landscape views as you climb are nothing short of breathtaking. Don’t be shy to take out your camera to capture the shots.
Mount Longonot’s peak stands at 2780m above sea level.
